Enhancing engineering capabilities to deliver solution proposals
By adopting a structure that allows us to respond to the highly diverse system projects of our users, we utilize our uniquely extensive product line up and our engineering capabilities to respond to the needs of customers, and propose solutions by plowing the fertile ground of production sites. When dealing with global account customers that are expanding production facilities both in Japan and overseas, we leverage our seamless organizational structure to work closely with overseas bases. In reaction to the recent issues of labor shortages and workstyle reforms, the market for robots has been expanding more and more, and by partnering with many systems integrators, we are able to propose a variety of automation and labor-saving strategies to customers.
Case Study
Delivering a new CVT* manufacturing line to a major auto manufacturer
We participated in a project for a new type of CVT that was intended to achieve the objectives of improved fuel economy and CO2 reductions, which are now essential for an auto manufacturer when developing a new vehicle. In addition, we submitted a proposal to reduce processing time and save space at the factory by operating one machine to cover the processes for a specific part that had previously required three separate machines. Because compressing the process to one machine results, in simple terms, in an increase in the load per machine and the load on the cutting tool, detailed coordination was required in respect to such issues as the durability of the machine and the life of the cutting tool. The customer, machine manufacturer and Yamazen formed a tripartite structure to conduct repeated test processing over the span of approximately two and a half years, as a result of which we were able to deliver a total of 15 units of the new CVT unit production machinery. At the same time, part of the transport line was subcontracted to us. We believe this is proof of our ability to respond to diverse customer needs by utilizing the wide-ranging network and the know-how that Yamazen has cultivated.

Total support from the design concept to installation We make automation dreams come true
Despite the need for automation to improve production efficiency, there are many customers in the three industries of food, cosmetics and medical, which are often grouped together, who are struggling even to establish where they should begin. In order to resolve the problems of such customers, by submitting a total proposal that covers everything from design concept to installation, we work with customers to realize their dreams.
In terms of an example from pharmaceutical factories, by introducing a container blender* for the manufacture of medicines that are completed by mixing together a variety of ingredients, we were able to automate the processes for mixing these ingredients, filling bags with the medicine, and cleaning the mixer, thus succeeding in reducing labor inputs and improving production efficiency. Yamazen’s strength lies in gathering together the many suppliers with which we have relationships, and leveraging our informational and marketing capabilities so as to be able to provide customers with consulting that fits their individual needs.
