Support After Disasters/ Disaster Countermeasures
In addition to working to strengthen its business continuity systems through the introduction of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and other measures at its major basis, the Yamazen Group provides donations, and transportation of emergency supplies, etc., when major disasters occur.
Support after disasters
We have implemented the following support measures in cooperation with local headquarters, branches, external companies, and various organizations.
Damage incurred in multiple areas as a result of typhoons and torrential rains in 2019
As part of our efforts to aid business partners who suffered damage, we provided high-pressure washing equipment and humidifying air purifiers, in addition to sending water and food.
Torrential rains of July 2018
In addition to making a donation of ¥5 million through the Japanese Red Cross Society, under the direction of the Hiroshima Regional Headquarters, we provided drinking water, food in retort pouches, and products for daily use to business partners in Hiroshima City and those covered by Fukuyama Branch who had suffered damage. Also, as the families of some employees were affected by the disaster, volunteers from the Hiroshima Regional Headquarters took relief supplies to their homes, and assisted in recovery activities.
The 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake
In addition to donating ¥30 million to Kumamoto Prefecture for reconstruction assistance, we cooperated with major sports equipment supplier ASICS Corporation for joint transportation of relief supplies. This was done with the aim of reducing the burden on the transportation network in the affected areas, with relief supplies from both companies being combined for transportation on trucks arranged by Yamazen.
Yamazen
- Provided means of transportation (truck transportation)
- Provided generators, and the floodlights, etc. for use at emergency evacuation sites, as well as providing relief supplies for day-to-day use
ASICS
- Provided foods, drinking water, sanitary products, etc.
Disaster countermeasures
Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
The Yamazen Group introduced Business Continuity Plans (BCP) at all of its major bases from October 2015 onwards.
“BCP.ERS” supports BCP deployment at small and medium-sized enterprises
Yamazen supports the introduction of BCP not only within its own group, but throughout the supply chain as a whole, and is thus rolling out its “BCP.ERS” one-stop support service including the formulation of BCPs for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Nationwide rollout for “ZePlus” housing concept
Yamazen’s Building Materials Division Headquarters is proceeding with the nationwide rollout of its “ZePlus” housing concept, which takes the net zero-energy house (ZEH) a step further by providing enhanced resilience. In addition to offering high durability, improved resistance to seismic events, superior maintainability, and energy-saving features, “ZePlus” is also a zero-energy house that is equipped to deal with electricity outages at times of disaster. At times of disaster, each house can use the “ZePlus” electricity storage system, reducing energy consumption and providing against electric power risks.
