◆Use of cardboard pallets and paper-based cushioning materials
To reduce the burden on the environment, we are switching from conventional wooden pallets to recyclable reinforced cardboard pallets, and changing the cushioning materials used as packaging from plastic materials to paper materials one after the other. We are promoting the use of FSC® certified logistics materials.
◆Commencement of modal shift
In FY2022, we increased the use of railway containers on Japan Freight Railway Company routes by about 1.4 times compared with the previous fiscal year. In June 2023, we also started using RORO ships* for transportation between our Kyushu and Kanto logistics warehouses.
* RORO (Roll-on Roll-off) ships: Cargo ship that is able to carry only the cargo-carrying trailer portion.
