Social Action Programs

The Yamazen Group engages with the following issues as part of its social action programs.

Human resources development

Takeo Yamamoto Memorial Scholarship Fund

“I was not able to study enough, even though I wanted to, and I used this sense of frustration as a springboard to master management. I want as many people as possible to apply themselves to study.” It was to pass on this attitude of Takeo Yamamoto, the founder, that this scholarship fund was set up in 1992. More than 100 people, including students from Asia studying in Japan, have now received bursaries from this scholarship fund, and are active in many different fields.

Educating and training employees on the need to respect human rights

The Yamazen Group conducts training in December of every year to coincide with Human Rights Week. All employees of the Group undergo training with the aim of further raising their awareness of human rights.

Sports/sponsorship

We support “San-en NeoPhoenix”.

Professional basketball team “San-en NeoPhoenix”, which plays in Japan's B.League, sets itself to challenge demanding targets, while actively engaging in activities that contribute to the local community by spreading and encouraging sport. San-en NeoPhoenix’s attitude resonates with Yamazen, and since 2008 it has supported the team as an official sponsor.

We support the Kumamoto Saishunkan Badminton Team.

The Kumamoto Saishunkan Badminton Team, a corporate women’s badminton team managed by Saishunkan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., consistently strives for excellence and always plays hard out of gratitude for those around them, based on their philosophy of being a “strong, well-loved team.” The spirit of the Kumamoto Saishunkan Badminton Team resonates with Yamazen, and so we have supported them as an official sponsor since 2024.

We support deaf basketball.

Deaf basketball is basketball for people with hearing disabilities. Partly because some of Yamazen’s employees are active as players, we work to raise the presence of deaf basketball through such initiatives as providing support for the “MIMI LEAGUE TOKYO 2019.”

Social action programs rooted in local communities

Partnership with the Osaka-Kansai Expo

Two of our employees are currently on secondment to the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, providing operational support for the association. We have also sponsored the event using our products as venue equipment and received a letter of appreciation from the association. Furthermore, we launched the Osaka-Kansai Expo BCP Project and are working on transportation demand management and supply chain management as part of a business continuity plan during the expo period.

Group Blood Drive at Osaka Corporate Headquarters

We have conducted group blood drives at our Osaka Corporate Headquarters for Yamazen Group employees and the general public at the request of the Japanese Red Cross Society since 2022. In 2023, 45 people participated, helping to save the lives of those in need of blood transfusions.

We participate in the cleaning up of Awaza Minami Park.

Yamazen cooperates in the cleaning up of Awaza Minami Park, which is located near the Osaka Corporate Headquarters building. By linking up with people from the local neighborhood association and local companies, we do what we can to help beautify the environment in the Itachibori/Awaza areas.
