Green Business
Strategic Map

In order to minimize recognized risks and turn them into opportunities, we are actively engaged in carbon neutrality (CN) from the three perspectives of “development business,” “sales promotional planning” and “branding.” As a distribution trading company, we emphasize how we conduct business in a way that we collaborate with suppliers and buyers. As we implement our Green Growth Strategy, we are engaged in PPA model business as a “development business” and Green Ball Project as a “sales promotional planning activity.”

Development Business
Promotion of Corporate PPA Business
In October 2021, we joined a PPA model business through a business alliance with Daigas Energy Co., Ltd., which is an operating company in the Daigas Group. The main targets are supplier manufacturers of the Company and factory users, and we aim to use the Company's technology and funding to support procurement of renewable energy and decarbonization by business partners, at the same time as contributing to the reduction of supply chain emissions that fall within the Company's own Scope 3.

DayZpower, a joint brand between Yamazen and Daigas Energy Co., Ltd., commenced a corporate PPA in June 2023 at the head factory of Okudaya Giken Co., Ltd. (Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture), one of our procurement suppliers. With Yamazen installing solar panels at the head factory and Daigas Energy handling maintenance and management, the 100% renewable electricity derived from the solar power generated here will be provided and sold to Okudaya Giken over the course of 20 years.
Generator capacity is 124 kW, with approximately 110,000 kWh of power anticipated annually. We are helping reduce CO2 emissions in collaboration with the supply chain, which includes Yamazen, by providing support for adopting energy-saving measures at suppliers.

Sales Promotional Planning Activity
Green Ball Project

The Green Ball Project that has been running since 2008 focuses on the effect of environmentally friendly products reducing emissions (baseline comparison method, program-type reduction activity), and has counted the cumulative contribution to reduction in emissions using the Company's proprietary calculation method (GBP Protocol). As a distribution trading company, by expanding the use of products with low environmental impact, we contribute to curbing emissions in “C11: Use of Sold Products,” for which the total amount is difficult to ascertain.
